Position announcement - Georgia Deputy Solicitor General

As described in the notice, the Deputy SG’s duties and responsibilities will be: 

Position will serve as the Solicitor General’s primary advisor for federal appellate matters. These matters include, but may not be limited to: federal appellate matters pertaining to Law Department clients; merits cases in the United States Supreme Court; petitions for certiorari, and briefs in opposition to petitions for certiorari in the United States Supreme Court; federal multi-state litigation; amicus briefs in federal courts of appeals and the United States Supreme Court; and development of appellate strategy for trial-level cases of state or national importance. Position researches and drafts briefs independently, AND works in collaboration with attorneys in the SG Unit and the Department to achieve the best possible appellate advocacy for the Department. Position will also play a key role in reviewing and editing federal appellate briefs.

The position will be expected to contribute to the overall work of the office, which will also include working on state appellate or other matters.
